Three teenage boys arrested in connection with Hythe business burglaries |

Officers investigating two business burglaries in Hythe have arrested three teenage boys. A 16-year-old boy from Hythe was arrested on Saturday (7 March) on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possession of a controlled drug of Class B, going equipped for theft and burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal. A 15-year-old boy from Holbury was arrested on the same day on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal. The pair have since been released on conditional police bail, pending further enquiries. A third boy, a 16-year-old from Hythe, was detained shortly before 6am today (Monday 9 March). He was arrested on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal. He remains in police custody at this time. The arrests follow two reported burglaries at units on St John’s Street between 7pm on Thursday 5 March and 9.30am on Friday 6 March. During one of the incidents, it’s reported that entry was forced via a smashed window and tools stolen from within. During the second incident, it’s stated that entry was forced to a door and a black Honda Gorilla motorbike and tools subsequently stolen. The bike has since been recovered and returned to a very happy owner.
